Custom Ceramic Cachepots for KINTO: Where Craftsmanship Meets Mobility
In the world of brand communication, even everyday objects can tell a story. This idea inspired our collaboration with Kinto Mobility, a brand of the Toyota group focused on innovative mobility services. We designed and produced approximately 1,000 custom handcrafted ceramic cachepots, each decorated with one of six graphics representing KINTO’s services. A project that combines craftsmanship, design, and corporate branding.
The Project: Custom Objects for Brand Communication
The goal was to create a product capable of enhancing workspaces while visually communicating KINTO’s services. Each cachepot was conceived as both a decorative and communicative element, ideal for offices and dealerships, where it can help reinforce brand identity. The six custom graphics correspond to the main mobility services, forming a cohesive and recognizable collection.
How We Created the Handcrafted Ceramic Cachepots
1. Custom Graphic Design
Six coordinated graphics, each representing a specific service. The focus was on visual consistency and strong communication impact.
2. Handcrafted Ceramic Production
The cachepots were made through traditional artisan processes:
- shaping the form
- controlled drying
- first high-temperature firing
This ensures both quality and uniqueness in every piece.
3. Glazing and second firing
The pots are glazed and placed in the kiln for a third firing, which serves as the base for applying the decal graphics
4. Ceramic Decal Application
For customization, we used ceramic decal transfer, an ideal technique for medium-to-large production runs, offering:
- high graphic precision
- consistency across large quantities
- long-lasting durability
5. Third Firing for Fixing
After applying the decals, each piece underwent a second firing to permanently fix the graphics onto the ceramic surface.
6. Production and Quality Control
The total production reached 1000 units each carefully inspected to ensure high standards in both finish and visual consistency.
